There are two different types of chemical stripping -
liquid and paste. Wood may react to chemical stripping, so
check to see if wood discolors, and remember that
different types of wood may react differently.
More than one coat of stripper may be necessary if there
are many layers of paint. Protect your eyes by wearing
goggles, and your hands by wearing rubber gloves. Wash any
stripper off your skin immediately.
Paste stripper looks like cold oatmeal. Apply a layer
about 3mm thick and leave to dry, and then lift off the
stripper and old paint using a scraper. |
