Priming
Metal
When
outdoor furniture or interior doors, fuse box covers, etc,
a good primer is the key. Always use a good quality
product. For exterior projects, a product such as Duron
Weathershield is what I recommend. One coat of a good
primer will adhere well to the metal and provide a good
seal for the top coat, or finish paint. Semi-gloss finish
paints generally work the best for exterior metals. I
always use latex on latex on for exterior metals. Interior
metals are best with latex primer, and oil base semi-gloss
or latex flat. Even when using a product like Rust-O-Leum
you will still want to use a good coat of primer. |
