Removing
old peeling paint
One
of the most important steps in any painting project is
preparing the surface you're going to paint, and one
common surface problem is peeling paint. Here's how to fix
it.
First, scrape away the loose paint with a putty knife.
Apply spackling compound to the edges of the chipped
paint.
When the spackling compound dries, sand the area with
150-grit sandpaper.
Then wipe off the dust and prime the patch.
When the primer dries, you're ready to paint. Remember,
with painting, a little prep work at the start always
makes for a better finish. |
