If you'd like to add a
little interest to your paint job, I have some decorative
techniques that are easy to do and will give a great
result!
Make
different sized spiral design templates with some
corrugated cardboard. Roll it loosely and secure it with a
little tape. Dip the end of the roll into a little bit of
paint, dab it off and start on the wall, you can space
them out or make a design.
Try
"stamping" the wall with wall stamps from the craft store.
How
about stripes? There are a couple of different ways you
can do these. For small "freehand" stripes, use a utility
knife to cut notches into a rubber squeegee. Then you can
either drag it through a fresh paint job, or dip it in a
contrasting color and pull it down the wall. Work slowly
so you don't get gaps in your stripes. For more uniform
stripes, measure how far apart you would like them and run
some painters tape down the wall. Then you can use a
roller to paint between the strips of tape. Allow it to
dry and then slowly and carefully peel the tape off. |
