So, you have a painting
project coming up, well I have some tips to make the job a
little easier on you.
If you
don't want to take the time to remove all of your
doorknobs or hardware, try this: apply a little petroleum
jelly with a cotton swab around the base of the knob
(being careful not to get it on the door). Then, wrap the
knob with aluminum foil. The foil will protect the knob
from splashes and splatters. If you happen to get paint
where you rubbed in the petroleum jelly you'll be able to
simply wipe it off with a cloth after the rest of the
paint dries.
When
you're cutting in or working in a tight space with a brush
it's a pain to lug around the paint tray, instead, fill a
yogurt cup with paint and go to work. Not only is the cup
easy to hold; but if you get the kind with the lid you can
seal it up and save the paint for little touch ups
throughout the project.
If
you've ever had to lean against the top step of your
ladder while you're working on the upper part of a room
you know it can be a pain, literally. Cut a piece of pipe
insulation to the width of the ladder and then slip it in
place over the edge of the step. It will give you a
cushiony place to lean while you work! |
