You think you're ready to
wallpaper, but you're not sure where to start. Here's what
you need to know!
Measure
the distance around the room in feet and multiply that
number by the height. To get the square footage. A roll of
wallpaper will generally cover 36 feet, but you want to be
sure you have a little extra in case of mistakes, or big
repeats in your pattern. So divide the square footage by
30. The answer is the number of rolls you'll need. You can
deduct about a half roll for each window and door in the
room.
Make
sure that all of your wallpaper comes from the same lot.
If it isn't the rolls could have color variations that
will make your wallpaper job look uneven!
Before
you wallpaper, cover any stains with a latex paint and let
it dry. The latex will ensure that the stains don't leak
through the new paper. |
