Installing a deadbolt for safety
Use a dead bolt lock to secure your valuables or dangerous material in the place of your choice. Make your side door or shed door burglar resitant.

Two types of dead bolts locks are available: the single-cylinder mechanism that locks from inside by means of a lever, and the double-cylinder mechanism that locks with a key from inside or outside.

Don't get locked in the bathroom
You must always be able to unlock a bathroom door from the outside. In case of an emergency, privacy must bow to safety. Choose models of locks that can be opened, one way or another, from both sides.

When a key breaks off in the lock
It's not easy to remove a broken key from a lock barrel. But it can be done by using a small blade from a bracket saw. Slip the saw blade under the broken key and use the blade's teeth to grip the key's teeth.

A drinking straw to unlock a door
In the winter when your car door lock freezes up, place a straw in the keyhole and blow. In this way your lock can be defrosted in a few seconds.

Lighting a door lock at night
Are you sick of coming home from work and fumbling in the dark to insert the key into the door lock. Simply install a light detector socket in the outside light. It will turn on automatically when it's needed, I.e. once the sun goes down and, even when your not at home, help protect your property against burglars.
