Kitchen cabinets
Renovating your kitchen is not only a great way of making
aesthetic and practical improvements to your home but it
also significantly increases the re-sale value of your
property.
Whether you want to update the look of your kitchen, turn it
into a more functional and friendly area, or improve the
storage space, there are many benefits to changing your
kitchen cabinets. And the investment always pays.
Transformed kitchen cupboards
To transform wood or melamine kitchen cupboards, add crown
moldings above and regular moldings a few inches around the
doors and drawers. Glue and pre-drilled nail holes are
recommended for melamine. Then paint the entire surface with
a special primer, followed by a special paint for kitchens
and bathrooms that contains anti-fungal substances or with
melamine paint. Clean the surfaces thoroughly and sand
lightly for a professional finish, which can also be
obtained by texturing the paint.
Flush fitting without damage
When flush fitting a counter or any other piece or appliance
in the kitchen or the bathroom, place stratified sheets,
such as melamine, along the two side surfaces. The new
counter will easily slide into its intended space between
the thin sheets which will protect the wood or plasterboard
surfaces.
A
personalized kitchen pot rack
To build a pot and utensil rack in the kitchen, use a piece
of metal storage shelving, which often comes covered with
white or black plastic, in which you can drill holes. After
the piece is cut to size, take four pieces of chain of the
same length and suspend the shelf, framed or not with wood,
with butterfly hooks and insert S shaped hooks in the
drilled shelf holes to receive the pots and utensils. Once
the shelf is up, you can place plants, dried flowers or any
other decoration you like on the shelf top.
Kitchen cupboard cleaning
Cleaning kitchen cupboards is a tough job. To make this long
and painstaking job a little easier, place wax, or
decorative paper on the shelves that can be replaced when
needed. |
